Well my friends,
The House Republican Party is at it again: they are continuing their protest of the Democrat's refusal to deal with allowing the US to increase domestic oil production. The protest is having a one-sided debate on the unlit House floor. The protest started on Friday and had something of the flavor of a revival meeting. The protest will continue for an undetermined time. Finally I am proud of something the GOP is doing. House Democrats turn out the lights, but GOP keeps talking

Courtesy of politico.com I have heard that after the House adjourned at 11:23 this morning without voting on offshore drilling, the GOP decided to stay and discuss the issue. As of the time of this writing, the GOP has been talking for over 4 hours in the dark with no microphones. Several members who had already driven out of town came back, and Rep. Kevin Brady of Texas got off his plane when he heard what was going on. He came onto the House floor still carrying his bags. The Representatives have been enjoying being able to speak without the rules of being in session. The House gallery, which no longer must stay silent, has been chanting "Vote Vote Vote".
